Matt Rogers planted the church that became The Church at Cherrydale in 2009. He and his wife Sarah have three daughters: Corrie, Avery, and Willa and two sons: Hudson and Fuller. Matt holds a Master of Arts in counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary as well as a Master of Divinity and a PhD from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Toby Dix, a native of Travelers Rest, SC, was saved by God at the age of 19 and has served in ministry for almost three decades. Toby was instrumental in helping plant the church that became The Church at Cherrydale. 25 years ago, Toby founded Be Real Ministries conducting Meltdown Student Conferences across the Southeast. Toby is married to Julieann and they are blessed with two older, teenage children. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors with his family & friends through hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Hugh Carson helped plant the church that became The Church at Cherrydale. Hugh and Hollie have three children: Laney, Mattie, and Bennett. Hugh served as a Journeyman Missionary with the International Mission Board and holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jonathan Chasteen was initially a part of the church plant that became The Church at Cherrydale. Jonathan was later affirmed as a Lay Elder at TCC in 2014 and serves TCC by providing oversight of Men’s & Women’s and Deacon Ministries. Jonathan and Kim have three daughters: Ella, Sophie, and Evie. Jonathan is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. Jonathan enjoys spending time with family, Clemson Tiger sporting events, yard work, and gardening.
Brandon has been faithfully serving in the local church for the past 15 years as a teacher, mentor, and small group leader. He is married to his outstanding wife, Karla, and they have 2 incredible kids. Brandon serves TCC as a Lay Pastor in our small group ministry and teaching. Outside of TCC, he works as a Strength Coach and enjoys quiet time with his family, woodworking, and fitness.
Donny & Amber mathis
Donny began serving TCC as a lay elder in 2014 and helps to coordinate the Core classes and Family Meetings at TCC.. Donny and Amber have two children: Trace and Hallie. Donny is a Professor of Christian Studies at North Greenville University where he teaches New Testament, Hermeneutics, and Biblical Greek. He holds a Master of Divinity in Higher Education and PhD in New Testament Language, Literature, and Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Amber graduated from the University of Mobile with a BA in Religion, attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for two years, and finished her Master’s in Christian Ministry at North Greenville University. She has worked with children for seventeen years and has served in her current capacity as Children’s Minister for the past twelve. Married to Donny, they live in Taylors, SC with their VERY energetic children, Trace and Hallie! Amber loves serving the local church and mentoring students interested in vocational ministry.
